The Morning Tweet

As I lug the hundredth bundle of wood into the living room, stoke the coals and get a fire going-after at least ten minutes of muttering to myself and worrying over the pitiful flames-I sit upon the sofa with a cup of coffee and settle in to enjoy the solitude with only the crackling of the fire to keep me company. Ha! Did I say solitude? While I may be fortunate enough to be free of the stomping of elephants tromping down the stairs begging for sustenance for a few, precious moments, I am far from alone. Nevermind the two dogs, both boys, who are dragging their toys to and from my perch on the sofa begging for me to throw them over and over and over and over. Next to my comfy spot across fr

Boys and laundry...

It is rare to find a quiet moment in my house. In fact, I can't recall the number of times that I have closed the bathroom door and seated myself for a few moments of privacy only to hear the inevitable, "Mom!" I just want five minutes or three minutes or even two. Heck, sometimes 30 seconds is good enough! But having moments of privacy is not part of the world order in my home because I have three sons. Well, four if you count my husband, and let's face it, he's probably got more toys than all three of the 'real kids' combined! Why am I talking about trying to steal moments of solitude amidst the chaos? Quite simply, I would like to write, without being 'mom-ed' every five minutes. However,
